Denia is home to a castle located on a rocky crag overlooking the city. It was built in the 11th and 12th century and offers views around the sea, the city and the surrounding area. Within the castle is the Palau del Governador with its museum.
Denia is also home to the Museo Etnologico with further details on the history and culture of the city.
The ferry to Ibiza and the other Balearic Islands departs from Denia daily. The city also serves as the northern terminus for a picturesque metre gauge railway line through the mountains from Alicante (popularly known as the Limón Express)
From fellow Spanish world class golfer Jose Maria Olazabal comes the next 18 hole golf course. Designed in 1990, it offers a demanding 18 hole golf course and a driving range with over 20 bays. You find it around the village Jesus Pobre near Denia. Leave at exit 62 of the autopista AP7 and head in direction towards Denia and take a right to La Xara and Jesus Poble. It’s one of those clubs that should not be missed.
